Identification of circular eco-subsystems for end-of-life aviation composite components based on a systematized R6-strategy

Abstract The demand of composites in the aviation and space industry has increased significantly recent decades. This is due to excellent properties composite materials, especially their low density design flexibility. However, reuse further utilization structures materials provide new challenges for recycling sector. In accordance with ‘Green Deal’ European Commission, pathways are required ensure an effective economic components at end-of-life (EoL). We discuss a strategic approach returning decommissioned parts back into material cycle particular focus on waste reduction, as well decrease associated energy emissions. Therefore, sustainable strategy exploit various circular possibilities was applied, consisting six R-strategies: reuse, repair, refurbish, remanufacture, repurpose .
